Yes, they are allowed. However, when submitting your ESA, please indicate which special features you have used.

<summary>Can I submit my solution to the ESA after the submission deadline?</summary>
After the submission deadline, solutions can no longer be uploaded.
A late delivery is only possible in exceptional cases.

<summary>Can I use code of another student or which I've found online for the submission task(s)?</summary>
**NO!**
The submission task must be provided as an individual performance (no team work).
If you used code from an online source, then you'd have to mention it in your code as a comment (link to the source code).
When uploading your submission task, you are confirming the following statement:
> I hereby declare that I have independently and without assistance performed
> the processing, that I have not yet submitted it elsewhere for examination
> purposes, that I have not used any sources and tools than those indicated,
> and that I have marked literal and analogous quotations as such.
**Please be aware that plagiarism/using the same code of other students/from an online source can be punished and can lead to zero points.**

<summary>I program under Linux and can not generate an .exe file, what now?</summary>
Since it is only indirectly possible to generate an .exe file under Linux, **you do not have to upload an .exe file when submitting the ESA.**
Please **leave a comment** when uploading the file, indicating that **you have programmed under Linux**.

<summary>I've already uploaded the ESA last semester. Do I still need to upload the solution?</summary>
**No!** Please upload the vhb certificate (pdf) for the corresponding course part.
You do not have to edit and submit the submission tasks again.

<summary>I've registered for the exam in part 1&2. I've not achieved the requirement to take part in it. Can I write the exam in part 1?
</summary>
Yes that's possible. You'll be allowed to take part in the exam for part 1.
You'll receive an e-mail where you will be notified that you've not reached the required amount of points to take part in the exam for part 1+2.
You'll then also be asked if you'd like to take part in the exam for part 1 (provided that you've the required amount of points to take part in the exam for part 1).

<summary>Will there be a vhb certificate for participating in the ESA's?</summary>
From WS1920 there will be an ungraded vhb certificate (participation certificate) after passing the submission task (ESA).
If you do not take part in the vhb exam, you will only receive one by request via email.</details>
